The murder had been planned in every detail except one. Somebody got there before they did. Most of us are blessed with a loving family and a supportive environment in which to develop, but what if your home is a place of physical, sexual and mental abuse. A never-ending terror which goes beyond the home. A routine call, a possible suspicious death at the Maritime Hospital. With forensics compromised, and a boss keen for the body to be moved in great haste, DS Adams doesn't stand a chance with the investigation.

Together with the members of his team he is forced to confront his prejudices and make difficult personal choices.

The use of modern technology on evidence from the past provides shock and disbelief for the guilty, but closure for the innocent victims and their families.

Two families consumed by guilt and shame, need to revisit the past to make sure their sins are not visited on the next generation. Only then are they able to move on with their damaged lives.

Yvonne Hughes was brought up in the Medway Towns and still lives in Kent with her husband Gordon and two geriatric golden retrievers.

The eldest of six children beating her identical twin into the world by a mere twenty minutes. Much of her working life has been in the financial sector, not bad for someone asked to leave the maths class to stop dragging the rest down to her dismal level.

Despite this Yvonne gained a BA in social sciences with the Open University.  Her two grown up children, Nichola and Jonathan live in dread of being featured in her work!

Yvonne's first paid work as a writer was at the age of 13 years, a letter in Jackie magazine.  Having thought about it for a while, over 30 years to be exact, she embarked on some further writing. Yvonne's not one to rush things!

With limited success as a short story writer, Yvonne embarked on the BBC Radio Scotland’s Write Here, Right Now project. During the month of February a minimum of 1000 words had to be produced each day.  At the end of the month, Yvonne had her first manuscript of 30,000 words.  It was this project that persuaded Yvonne that she had the ability to write.

All books can be purchased from Amazon, and at all good bookstores. A signed copy can be purchased direct from the author for posting world-wide. contact me for details.
